Overall objective of the project is to improve the information access to sites, related to the cultural heritage in the cross-border region for the purposes of firstly promoting and developing them. Once they are developed, there will be demand and awareness needed for their protection and conservation.
One main objective of the project is to increase the number of tourists’ visits in the cross-border region through consolidation of information, products and services via innovative ICT tools.
The specific objective is: To valorize cross border area cultural heritage for tourist purposes.
By consolidating the information gathered and products and services created during previous projects, we will be able to increase the awareness and demand (valorize) the CBR cultural and natural heritage sites and points of interest (POI’s).
Over the past several program periods many projects have been implemented through EU funding which aimed to valorize cross border area cultural heritage for tourist purposes. The overall objective of this project is to combine and consolidate the previously developed products and services into a single point of access. This will both give sustainability to previously implemented EU funded projects and at the same time allow the utilization of rarely utilized previously developed resources, in many cases costing Millions of Euros.
Expected Results: Short-term expected results include increased capacities in the management of tourist resources long-term results include increased area attractiveness, increased international visibility of area cultural resources and increased tourist flows.
